The Yamaha R100 Impulse Pack

First introduced in the late eighties, the Yamaha R100 was used by such noted artists as John Foxx, Julian Swales and producer Sam Binga. Boasting 99 second reverb time [although we noted the longest we got was around 30s allowing for noise floor] the unit has a wide range of reverbs, ERs delays and a handful of modulated effects. It’s noted for its slightly gritty character compared to the slicker sounding units of the time from Lexicon, Quantec, etc

The R100 Impulse Pack contains just over 500 impulses of the reverbs produced by the unit totalling around 1.5GB of data comprising :

• Large Hall, Mid-Size Hall, Small Hall, Large Church, Cathedral, Deep Reverb 1 and 2, Solo Reverb, Large Club, Small Club plus many of the Delay/Reverb programs.
• Our unit’s noise profile is also provided though inputs were FIR denoised at recording using this profile.

Although the R100 samplerate is driven from the MIDI clock at 31.25kHz these impulses were recorded as 24 bit 48kHz samples and deconvolved to 32 bit 48kHz IRs.
